Salary: $76,057 - $82,331 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation
The Finance Manager is responsible for the management of financial matters relating to the operation of the Austin Academic Centre of the Melbourne Medical School located at Austin Health and Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg. The position supports the Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MHW) and the Clinical School, providing strategic, operational planning and policy development support to the Academic Centre Manager, the Heads of Department and the Chair of the Academic Centre.
Reporting directly to the Academic Centre Manager, the position contributes professional and resource management skills to the operation of the Academic Centre by ensuring efficient and effective systems and procedures are developed and maintained in accordance with the strategic direction of the Academic Centre
The Finance Manager provides advice and assistance to professional and academic staff in the Academic Centre in relation to financial matters for both teaching and research activities. The Academic Centre has an annual budget in excess of $15M with funding coming from a variety of sources. Ensuring compliance with financial management and reporting requirements, particularly in the research sphere, is a significant responsibility of the role.
The Finance Manager will assist the Academic Centre Manager with budget preparation, forecasting, financial management, reporting and modelling as well as assistance in responding to and local implementation of, enterprise-wide changes.
