BBC English Regions is responsible for all local radio, television and online output in England. Working to the Lead Scheduler, we are looking to appoint a scheduling staff to schedule Local Radio and co-sited TV staff in conjunction with the Managing Editor , Local Radio, Editor TV News, and Assistant Editors TV and radio.
You will be responsible for ensuring that business workload is met by suitably skilled and experienced staff, by liaising effectively with both programme teams and the business community. You’ll need to administer and manage all documentation associated with this and be prepared to work flexibly within a small team.
Excellent skills in planning and organising are essential as is the ability to forward plan. An understanding of scheduling systems is also necessary. In addition, you’ll also need to be able to effectively communicate with a range of staff and senior programme-makers, sometimes in pressurised situations. Equally important is a thorough understanding of BBC Local and Regional services and knowledge of the diverse make-up of our audience.
