Video for Change Internship


WITNESS is currently seeking highly motivated interns to support its video for change training initiatives. Working in a fast-paced environment, Fall interns will help create and dissementate training resources and tools - ranging from short tutorial videos to video for change tip sheets - to support activists in their use of video for human rights advocacy and documentation. Interns need to collaborate with WITNESS staff in its Brooklyn, NY office.

Tasks Include:

  • Writing and researching training-related content for the WITNESS blog and Video for Change Toolkit;
  • Collaborating on the creation of new WITNESS training guides, tip sheets and short videos;
  • Supporting distribution and outreach of the Toolkit and WITNESS' training materials; and
  • Conducting interviews and surveys of Toolkit users and video for change activists.

All interns are expected to spend between 20-30% of their time engaged in administrative support.


Qualifications:
  • Experience working on human rights advocacy and/or multimedia creation;
  • Strong writing skills are required and additional language skills (particularly French, Spanish or Russian) are a significant plus;


General Information
We require a minimum of two months commitment, for at least 25 hours a week. Internships are unpaid. Our offices are located in Brooklyn, NY, convenient to the Atlantic Terminal (2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, Q, N and R trains) and C (Lafayette) and G (Fulton) trains.
