Manager, Sustainability Programs - Carnival Cruise Lines

As a member of the Corporate Maritime Policy Department (CMP) of Carnival Corporation & plc ("Carnival"), the Manager, Sustainability Programs will support the development and implementation of sustainability programs. This position reports directly to the Director, Sustainability Programs, CMP and requires strong organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities include:
• Implementing sustainability data collection and reporting initiatives including, but not limited to Corporate Sustainability Reports; Carbon Disclosure Project; CDP Water Disclosure; Greenhouse Gas Verification; external financial reporting, and others, as needed.
• Monitoring global trends, benchmarking Operating Lines and competitors, and researching and analyzing a wide range of sustainability issues and recommend areas for Carnival engagement.
• Identifying opportunities to further embed sustainability into Carnival's existing management policies and practices.
• Supporting engagements with internal and external stakeholders to identify and drive implementation of sustainability initiatives.
• Supporting collaborations with other Carnival departments / groups as a hands-on resource to support sustainability initiatives.
• Supporting development of internal and external sustainability communications, awareness and training activities.
• Assisting Director, Sustainability Programs in responding to external stakeholder inquiries regarding sustainability.
• Participating, as directed, in external industry consortia/ working groups/ task forces (e.g., STLN, SSI, GEMI, NAEM, etc.) to help identify external benchmarks and to develop consistent approaches to addressing sustainability issues within Carnival.
• As directed, representing Carnival at public speaking engagements, industry/award events, and other industry and community activities.
Requirements:
• 6+ years of related professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing sustainability programs.
• Demonstrated interest in and passion for sustainability-related matters.
• Experience working on environmental, social and general sustainability issues.
• Knowledge of environmental, social and general sustainability regulations, requirements and norms; corporate carbon accounting; energy, water, and other natural/sustainable resource allocation issues; and labor performance metrics.
• Good understanding of sustainability issues in a business environment.
• Excellent communications and writing skills.
• Process oriented and experienced with management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISM Code, ISO 9001, and/or OHSAS 18001).
• Ability to collaborate with a wide range of groups including Corporate and Operating Line management, Legal, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Marketing.
• Strong familiarity with sustainability-related IT systems including web content, Excel and databases used for sustainability data collection, communications and reporting.
• Good project management skills required.
