Alumni Relations & Publicity Officer

Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
Grade 7: £29,249 - £35,938 p.a.
The Department of Chemistry seeks to appoint an Alumni Relations and Publicity Officer who can promote and communicate its current research and teaching activities and its vision for the future to Oxford Chemistry alumni and to a range of non-alumni stakeholders both within and outside the University.

You will build a vibrant alumni-relations programme to engage the 10000+ Chemistry alumni, and support the department’s external relations, public engagement and fundraising activities. Working under the direction of the Chairman of Chemistry, and closely with the Chemistry Research Facilitator, the IT Co-ordinator and members of the University Development team, you will communicate in a variety of formats with internal and external audiences, and organise events to promote engagement of the department with external partners. You will work to encourage philanthropic giving and facilitate collaborations and networks with industry partners and the wider world.

The successful candidate will have an interest in, and preferably experience in, alumni relations, fundraising or comparable activities, possess excellent communication, team-working and organisational skills and should have a science degree or equivalent, preferably in Chemistry.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
