Cefic
, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.
Cefic is located in Auderghem and employs more than 160 people.
For its department Petrochemistry (APPE), Cefic is looking for a (M/F) Regulatory and Technical Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of relevant regulatory developments and information related to the products of the members of APPE (Association of Petrochemical Producers in Europe);
  • Managing a number of working groups dealing with petrochemicals and chemical derivatives;
  • Setting up of task-forces and development of consortia;
  • Identifying technical issues, determination of relevant strategies and action plans with the participation of the working groups to comply with EU regulation;
  • Coordinating and managing of projects in response to key technical issues;
  • Initiating advocacy in line with action plans;
  • Advising and ensuring high level service to the members.

Skills & competencies

  • University degree (science, chemistry or engineering);
  • Valuable working experience within the sector of petrochemicals or derivatives (solvents, olefins aromatics or oxygenates derivatives) is an advantage;
  • Clear understanding of a federations’ role and being familiar with regulation and willing to develop his/her experience in European Affairs;
  • Working experience with associations, communication with external authorities, EU environment,…
  • Proficient level in English (both spoken and written), knowledge of other European languages are an asset;
  • Good project manager, service-minded with a certain autonomy;
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
