Project Manager /DCOP in Jordan

We seek qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager /DCOP for an anticipated project in Jordan.
Position Description:
The anticipated USAID-funded Community Engagement Program in Jordan seeks to address immediate and medium term stressors in communities with the goal of strengthening Jordanian communities to mitigate and resolve tension and instability caused by both domestic volatility and the massive influx of refugees.
The Project Manager / DCOP will assist the Project Director / COP with all responsibilities and coordinate all activities and assist with the development of the vision, strategy, and technical direction of the entire project. S/he will be responsible for the oversight of financial management, project accounting systems, procurement and grants management. The Project Manager / DCOP’s responsibilities will also include the implementation of the strategy agreed with USAID and its monitoring, including: management of deadlines; drafting of all reports required by the contract; maintenance of records; monitoring achievement of benchmarks in the contract. The Project Manager / DCOP will assist the Project Director / COP in creating and maintaining good working relationships with USAID, government counterparts, local organizations, and program partners.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience living and working in the MENA region, Jordan preferred; Jordanian nationals are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and navigate politically sensitive terrain.
- Knowledge of USAID programming, rules and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Professional proficiency in Arabic strongly preferred.
- Proven record of excellent management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel within country or region and internationally if needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in international affairs, political science, conflict resolution, international development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of senior level experience designing, managing, and implementing large, rapid response complex development projects related to peacebuilding, community development and engagement.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program operations, procurement, financial management and/or logistics.
