We are looking for an experienced project manager to drive a high profile project migrating fundraising and alumni data from numerous different source systems in colleges and departments to the University’s Development and Alumni Relations System (DARS). These participants are moving from local systems to DARS which is collegiate-wide and as such data quality and consistency is a paramount concern. The complex nature of the Oxford collegiate system adds to the challenges of the project.
The role will require you to lead a team of two analysts and two developers, in planning, stakeholder management, analysis and delivery of around 9 migrations each year. These can be thought of as a number of small overlapping project workstreams typically taking 3-7 months each with 6 or more running at any time. Key stages of each workstream will include initial analysis and planning, data cleansing and mapping, data migration build, validation, and merge into the main DARS database.
Specific experience and skills includes strong recognised Project Management methodology experience (Prince II or equivalent) and a proven record of managing multiple data migration workstreams. The role will also require you to be hands-on with respect to data analysis and stakeholder management so experience in, and a willingness to undertake, both is essential. It will be critical to the success of each project that the postholder is an outstanding communicator.
The appointment is fixed-term for two years in the first instance, though if successful there may be extensions to complete the migration of more colleges and departments.
