SECURITY MANAGER

SECURITY MANAGER

This position in the Protection Services division of the company calls for a dynamic and innovative person to be responsible for: 
- Formulating policy and risk prevention strategies 
- Monitoring efficiency and effectiveness of production, including preventing and managing risks 
- Establishing an approach to minimise and prevent theft and losses of the company 
- Managing and evaluating security services provided by a sub-contractor 
- Carrying out special, sensitive and ad hoc investigations 
- Ensuring that adequate, ongoing and focused training is provided to staff and sub-contractor.

Candidates must meet the following requirements: 
- Grade 12 plus National Higher Diploma in Security Studies or Police Administration or any relevant tertiary qualification 
- PSIRA registration as a Grade A Officer 
- At least five years’ experience in a security environment - three of which should have been in a senior managerial position in a diamond or precious metal environment 
- A Code B (08) driver’s licence 
- Good knowledge of and competency in managing human, physical and financial resources 
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Private Security Sectors, Diamond Act and Precious Metal Act 
- Sound analytical skills 
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational ability 
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours 
- Skipper’s licence for at least five sea miles 
- A sound financial background (no ITC listing) 
- No criminal record l Computer literacy.
