Senior Development Officer


This full-time position is essential to growing the overall fundraising efforts of the entire DCJCC. As a member of a four -person Development Office, the Senior Development Officer reports to the Chief Development Officer and works closely with the other members of the department, the Chief Executive Officer, Associate Executive Director, Board Members and programming staff on fundraising activities, committees and events. Responsibilities focus on overseeing the grant and corporate sponsorship portfolios as well as a piece of Major Gifts fundraising for the entire agency.
GRANT MANAGEMENT:
  • · Manage approx $1.25 - $1.5 million grants portfolio and calendar including JFGW affiliation and grants programs
  • · Write grants and reports for entire Agency over all programmatic divisions
  • · Manage and maintain relationships with grant funders; cultivate new funding relationships with grant prospects
  • · Manage and oversee government grants and reporting requirements
  • · Manage program evaluation process as it relates to grants and reporting
  • · Develop budgets and corollary materials for grant applications
  • · Maintain grant tracking and accountability system
  • · Manage and oversee grant prospect research
CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM:
  • · Research corporate philanthropy landscape and develop solicitation materials for corporate giving program
  • · Work with Board and lay committees to identify and cultivate corporate prospects
  • · Manage and coordinate solicitations of corporate funders for Agency and programmatic gifts.
  • · Manage and maintain relationships with corporate funders; cultivate new funding relationships with new prospects
  • · Manage corporate benefit packages and sponsorship recognition across the Agency
OTHER:
  • Supervise Development Associate and oversee gift entry and acknowledgment systems
  • Work with programming staff as needed on program-specific major gift contributions
  • Support fundraising campaigns, online giving initiatives and major fundraising events
  • Maintain Board/Committee relations as appropriate
