The successful Reliability Engineer will be responsible for improvement of plant availability, equipment performanceand increase MTBF. Other duties of the successful incumbent would be to develop and optimise Maintenance strategiesto achieve best practice asset life and performance.  Actively investigate equipment failure to identify the root causeand provide actions for maintenance strategy correction or for engineering change management and ensure organisational objectives are achieved.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years Maintenance/Reliability experience in the mining industry preferred
  • B-Tech/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering is essential
  • Understanding of Reliability Engineering techniques
  • Management system, e.g. SAP, CMMS
  • Make effective contributions using team concept with the ability to manage, influence and work within a multi discipline Maintenance team
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Cost, staff and maintenance management experience is essential
Job Objectives:         
  • Carries-out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to ensure problem identification and corrective action taken
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) to maximise equipment uptime
  • Assessment and Mitigation of Risk to ensure compliance to all safety related issues and eliminate/minimise incidents and/or accidents
  • Preventative Maintenance strategies to minimise/eliminate unnecessary breakdowns
  • Maintenance planning and control to ensure the sustainability of the organisation
  • Prioritising of workloads and tasks to ensure proper optimisation of available resources
  • Execute capital projects from inception through to final completion to ensure funds invested are adding value to the organisation
  • Continuous Improvement of Preventative Maintenance Procedures to remain competitive in the global market
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure optimum efficiency
  • Identify potential opportunities seeking to reduce or predict equipment failures or reduce failure cost/impact
  • Carries – out statutory work as required
  • Carries –out audits and giving guidance to manage the quality of work
  • Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safetyenvironmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Adhere to laws, regulations, HSEC standards and the Companies Code of Business Conduct
  • Review and develop equipment strategies that reflect the operational needs to achieve the specified equipment availability, in conjunction with the agreed throughput rates and engineering standards for the equipment.
  • Review condition based monitoring reports and provides recommendations for improved reliability and reduced asset care costs.
  • Review and optimise the maintenance plans within the computerized maintenance management system, develop and facilitate processes for task list, bill of material and spares reviews.
  • Set up and manage the maintenance planning and control function – for effective deployment and utilization of maintenance resources, ensuing achievement of target adherence to schedule for planned work.
  • Prepare unforeseeable corrective work data, based on previous work history to support cost estimation at cost centre/element level.
