JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Electronics Analog Engineer will define, design, develop and sustain electronic circuits and systems for medical devices according to established product development procedures and protocols. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conceptualizes, designs, develops and sustains circuitry and systems for electronic systems.  Specifies and qualifies appropriate components and equipment based on documented analysis of design specifications, costs, availability and reliability.  Maintains an engineering lab notebook in order to document and work towards protecting company intellectual property.
  • Performs soldering, testing and debugging of designs and maintains test documentation.  Assumes full responsibility for assigned designs and effectively supervises work of technicians and operators who contribute to the design.  Produces test specifications and assists manufacturing with development of assembly and test procedures.
  • Generates and releases design documentation per production development procedures using Agile.
  • Generates and conducts formal verification and validation plans of completed designs.  Actively participles in the transfer of products from R&D into manufacturing. 
  • Contributes to and documents rationale of product architectural assessment and analysis.  Assesses new technologies and vendors to meet company goals.
  • Leads small to medium size projects per the product development procedures of the company.  Project responsibilities include directing the work of or managing technician and /or engineering project resources including coordinating and managing cross-functional (interdepartmental) project teams.  Develops and adheres to project schedules and budgets. 
  • Proactively provides regular updates and status to functional manager and/or senior management.  Mentors lower level engineers and technicians.  Trains company personnel as required on new technologies, processes or products.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent training and experience
  • Requires 5 - 8 years' experience in electronic design
  • Seasoned knowledge of analog and digital electronics with some degree of specialization in analog (analog emphasis should include high frequency design)
  • Knowledge of radio design and tools, such as Smith Charts, filter design software, and impedance matching up to 400 MHz. Antenna and coax knowledge up to 100 MHz advantageous.
  • Adept at designs with small analog signals and methods for improving signal to noise ratio.
  • Analog designs with moderate power requirements.
  • PCB layout experience for low noise and grounding for EMI reduction.
  • Knowledge of C or C++ and programming microprocessors preferred
  • Schematic capture experience with Orcad desirable
  • Strong understanding of power supplies, linear and switching
  • Experience with solving EMI radiation and susceptibility problems
  • Knowledge and experience with Medical Electrical Safety and EMI/RFI regulations
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in managing successful projects
  • Experience using circuit simulation software such as PSpice or Multisim
  • Knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and emulators
  • Medical device industry experience
  • Knowledge of documentation control systems
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Electronic/Biomedical Engineering preferred
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment ensuring conducive working relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates
  • Excellent analytical, training and motivational skills
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to meet established project timelines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
SAMPLE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person
  • Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision)
  • Requires moderate right and left hand coordination for soldering and assembling very small parts
