SOCA/NCA tackles serious criminality that impacts on the UK and its citizens. This includes class A drugs, people smuggling and human trafficking, major gun crime, fraud, computer crime, money laundering and the corruption that organised criminals use to facilitate these crimes.
We work to imprison serious criminals, and use many other tactics to disrupt crime and keep people safe. In particular, we want to ensure crime doesn’t pay and that it’s harder to commit. We also draw on innovative new approaches to prevent crimes from happening in the first place.

Salary: £24,717 plus  London weighting (£3,162) where applicable. We are able to match salaries of current serving civil servants up to £30,323.
Role summary:
The UK International Crime Bureau comprises the Interpol National Central Bureau and the Fugitives Location Team and is based at the North West Hub. Its role is to link, through established communication channels, UK Law Enforcement Agencies with the rest of the world  and to be the gateway to the UK for Foreign Law Enforcement Officers. Support to  investigations by adding value, providing expertise in international operational activity and criminal justice systems and  providing an investigative response to facilitate international police co-operation, is a key role.   Amongst its responsibilities, the UK ICB deals  with Interpol Notices, cross border surveillance and all  casework  from theft  to Homicide, Wanted and  Missing Persons and Robbery to Child Abduction.
The UK ICB is the focal point for the location  of foreign  fugitives and  managing arrests under  the European Arrest Warrant provisions. New IT systems, soon to be introduced, will  enhance the capability of the UK ICB. SOCA  is currently working to establish the UK SIRENE Bureau, which in due course will become part of the UK ICB  and will manage  the Schengen Information System (SIS), an EU-wide data exchange system. The UK SIRENE Bureau, when live, will be the single point of contact to UK law enforcement capability through PNC to allow UK law enforcement end-users to identify, for example,  wanted and missing persons, and lost or stolen objects

Candidates must have:
Candidates must meet our educational qualification criteria which are; 5 GCSE's (Inc Math and English grade C and above),and 2 A Levels. However, if you are not in possession of the requisite qualifications, you can undertake our ability testing which seeks to establish an equivalent level of aptitude.

SECURITY CLEARANCE
To be considered, you will need to successfully complete Security clearance (SC) before commencing the role.
You will also be required to undertake a mandatory pre-employment substance misuse test and achieve a satisfactory result.
You should be aware that some roles within SOCA/NCA do require Developed Vetting Security clearance but this is not required for entry.
