The Role
Coffey Information has been engaged by the Macmahon John Holland Joint Venture to undertake soil testing on the INPEX project, located on the outskirts of Darwin. We are currently seeking applications from people with a keen interest in starting in the industry or from experienced technicians wanting to move their career forward.

Reporting to the Project Laboratory Manager, the main responsibilities of these roles will include:
  • Inspection and investigation work
  • Field and laboratory testing
  • Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with agreed standards
  • Fostering relationships with the client
  • Ensuring consistency in accuracy, quality and timely output of work
This opportunity will see you performing sampling and testing along with quality control and assurance testing of soils and concrete. Initial training is provided for inexperienced candidates and some transport to and from the project site is also available.
 
The Person
Experienced Technicians require previous experience in construction materials testing along with sound report preparation and client liaison skills. Experience with specialist soil, rock and aggregate testing and reporting and a nuclear density gauge licence are also desirable attributes.

For entry level candidates, knowledge of construction material monitoring and testing or previous experience in the construction industry along with a construction induction card would be beneficial.

All candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to work well as part of a team with an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety. You will be physically fit and must be prepared to work on a flexible site roster arrangement. A current manual driver’s licence is mandatory.
