ROLE OUTLINE
We require a qualified Surveyor to join the geospatial survey team with technical and organisational responsibility for a wide variety of surveying projects, principally in Cumbria but, occasionally, elsewhere in the UK and overseas. 
The role will involve the applicant in the full lifecycle of surveying work, from initial enquiries and client discussions, through estimating, fieldwork, processing of data and production of plans, reports and calculations. 
The applicant will be required to drive to site, etc and a full UK driving licence is essential. 
We are looking for a keen, progressive, versatile individual who can adopt a flexible approach to their role to provide support to all teams across the office as workload dictates.  An individual who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure work is delivered correctly and accurately and on time which will include working outside of normal office hours.

  • A recognised qualification in surveying is desirable (minimum HNC)
  • Member of the RICS desirable

  • Take responsibility for accurate delivery of own tasks
  • IT literate and proficient use of software packages
  • A full UK driving licence is essential and access to own car is required
  • Suitability for security clearance is essential
Specific technical skill requirements include: 
  • Extensive experience in the use of Total Station and GPS equipment for topographical surveys, setting-out and the establishment of high order control networks  
  • Levelling or precise levelling  
  • Internal building and elevation surveys  
  • Experience of digital terrain modelling and design work  
  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Leica Geo-Office and other survey related software  
  • Experience in other forms of geo-spatial data capture, such as laser scanning and photogrammetry 
  • Experience of work on Nuclear Licence Site or other highly regulated site  
Due to the frequent on-site work the person must be able to demonstrate the technical competence, self-reliance and motivation necessary when dealing with clients and public, or in resolving problems that arise.
