Part of his/her responsibility will be performing Network Assessments, Network Diagnostics, “best practice” Network Reviews, and Installation. The SA will be designing complex solution utilizing the Polycom Real Presence products and Configuration and Training .The Design and Optimization services include making recommendations that provide optimal use of the Polycom Voice and Video Solutions in both new and existing customer environments. The SA will be required to understand LAN and WAN network configurations and deployments and their ability to properly support real-time (voice and video) traffic.
The SA will primarily interact with external customers and partners, but will also interact with Project Managers, pre-Sales and regional technical support teams. The ideal candidate will have industry IT and VoIP/Video experience designing and implementing real-time networks that ensure high quality consistent real-time traffic delivery. The SA will utilize test tools, such as AppNeta PathView, Wireshark sniffer traces, IXIA’s Chariot or similar products/devices to analyze IP network performance and their ability to carry real time voice and video traffic. The SA will document and analyze data on video network performance issues such as QOS, link and network latency, jitter, bandwidth utilization and packet loss, and present to the customer the analysis with recommendations to improve performance. The SA position also provides opportunity to contribute to the definition and development of future network related product features and service offerings. Part of the SA role will be integrating Microsoft products with the Polycom Real Presence platform.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Master degree in EE or CS preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years professional IT Networking experience.
- Minimum of 5 years professional consulting experience and/or equivalent job experience required.
- 5 years professional consulting experience highly desired.
- 5 years of working knowledge of H.320, H323 and SIP protocols
- Experience in design and development of network/telecom solutions.
- Experience in network equipment hardware architecture.
- Has a proven track record in desgning and deploying complex soultions
- Experience in design and implementation of Voice/Video products on IP networks.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with Project Managers, Sales, Polycom Service and customer/channels.
- Good communication skills, persuasion and ability to promote innovative service and network architecture concepts to management and executive-level audiences. Ability to prepare detailed reports, presentations, white papers, etc.
- Self-starter, results-oriented with strong team work attitude.
- One or more industry recognized networking certifications (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, CCVP, CCNE).
- Experience with routers and switches and QoS configurations.
