The Organisation QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets. We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors.

Position Summary The Estimator is responsible for undertaking client side estimates and assurance reviews of third party estimates, to ensure that best value is achieved for QCLNG.

Key Accountabilities Core Accountabilities • Produce client side estimate for both near and long term forecasting purposes • To aid the definition of the deliverable to so that all scope is identified • To support the risk management process. • Track and reconcile changes in design through to estimate • Prepare scopes of work for the Contracts and Procurement department to go to market • Understand and convey commercial risks as a result of estimate • Help assess the benefits of value engineering exercises • Minimise exclusions in scope • Identify and help monitor trends Position Specific• Review tender responses with Contracts and Procurement • Strive for cost and scope certainty • Prepare, summarise and compare estimates to fixed cost types • Normalisation of tenders estimates • To produces various take-offs/outputs (MEL/BOM/BOQ) • Utilise industry norms to determine the project specifics • Produce estimates split by labour, material, equipment etc... • Strong FEED engineering experience • May be required to coordinate other discipline estimators (Civil, SMP, M&E). • To support and review change requests for impacts • Apply the relevant company process standards • Has strong commercial awareness to aid delivering value People Management• Be the functional lead to any specialist Tier 3 estimators that may be required. • Excellent team player • The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Experience Needed • Experience in LNG or similar • FEED and SMP • Total cost of Acquisition costing. • Industry standard tools (Candy / US Success) and methodologies • Understand Earned Value Management (EVM) • Possibly SAP or similar   Knowledge, Skills and Attributes • AACE / ACostE / APM or equivalent • MS Office (especially Excel and Access) • Probably degree qualified (engineering, project management) • Strong critical reasoning • Strong communicator • Good “customer focus” • Be prepared to challenge responses   Special Features • This role may require travel within Queensland.
