Lead Consultant- Survey into Demand for Mobile Money & Branchless Banking -Jakarta, Indonesia – AusAID funded Poverty Reduction Support Facility (PRSF)
PRSF is a joint facility between AusAID and the Government of Indonesia to improve the quality of policy advice for poverty programs in Indonesia.
The purpose of the Lead Consultant is to working together with a Local Survey Firm, to take the lead in:
- identifying the needs and demands for financial services among MSMEs in rural and urban areas;
- identifying potential opportunities and challenges among MSMEs in rural and urban areas for participating in the formal financial system, including Mobile Money and Branchless Banking.
- providing evidence needed in order for TNP2K to develop specific recommendations to the GoI, Bank Indonesia, Banks, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and other stakeholders in order to increase financial inclusion for MSMEs.
To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in development sector, particularly in developing country setting;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and carrying out qualitative survey;
- Specific experience in Mobile Money and Branchless Banking programs and/or Financial Inclusion;
- Extensive experience in working on programs and projects dealing with Economic and Social development, in particular MSME issues;
- Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research on Poverty Reduction programs in Indonesia is desirable; and
- Previous experience working with or in the Government of Indonesia is a strong advantage.
- Strong background in the field of MSME development in Southeast Asia;
- Sound knowledge of utilization of Mobile Money and Branchless Banking in developing countries;
- Basic knowledge of TNP2K operations and institutional mandates and policies, and good knowledge of poverty reduction in general; and
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills and ability to coordinate the work of others, work to tight deadlines and handle multiple concurrent activities.
- Fluency in English.
