- Opportunity to work with DFID’s flagship M4P programme in Health sector
- Market Leader
- The role will be a high profile leadership role with both management and technical inputs
The Health Innovation Challenge Fund (HICF) is a ground-breaking initiative by DFID that will enhance understanding of the opportunities and challenges for non-state actors to improve access to safe, effective and affordable health care, particularly for women and children. The HICF will ‘challenge’ non-state actors to identify and co-fund innovations that will improve the performance of the health market system. Sustainable, scalable projects that deliver strong, beyond-the-project social returns will be the focus of the fund, rather than projects that only look to benefit individual organisations.
The Team Leader is responsible for the management of all aspects of the Health Innovation Challenge Fund and successful delivery of services as described in the client Head Contract. The key responsibilities will include: providing technical leadership to the HICF; management of the team; client relationship management; representation of the programme; programme Administration and financial management and procurement.
You will demonstrate:
- At least 10 years’ experience in a senior management position, including in donor funded international development projects, preferably including DFID and in client facing roles;
- Successful track-record in delivery of complex programmes/projects and development of institutional capacity;
- Strong technical track record in private sector development in the health sector, and in particular knowledge and credibility in the field of market development/making markets work for the poor (M4P);
- Recent experience working in Bangladesh;
- Excellent leadership, management and organisational skills.
