The Sustainable Business & Innovation (SB&I) function aims to enable Nike Inc, to transition to a more sustainable, resilient and innovative business model by decoupling the company's growth from constrained resources.
The Business Integration team is one amongst five teams that make up the global SB&I function at Nike. The Business Integration team is tasked with accelerating the integration of sustainability across the business and enabling scale by hardwiring best practices in business operations. The Business Integration function consists of five sub-teams, the Strategic Planning team, Performance Management & Reporting team, Portfolio and Program Management Office, Business Integration team, and the Sustainability Operations COE. As the Advanced Sustainability Analytics Sr. Manager, you'll be part of the Advanced Sustainable Analytics Team housed within Sustainability Operations CoE in SB&I's Business Integration function.
The goal of the Advanced Sustainable Analytics Team is to provide trusted, fact based analysis to inform better business decisions that make Nike more profitable and sustainable. As our Advanced Sustainability Analytics Sr. Manager, you will combine a deep understanding of Nike's business, products and processes with advanced analytical techniques to provide easily understood insights and recommendations to key decision makers. You will creatively mesh sustainability principles with your limitless curiosity and powerful analytical skills to recommend workable solutions to key sustainability challenges. Examples of the project driven work will include; data mining Nike's material & product systems to identify Nike's key sustainability impacts and the leverage points to reduce them, accurately portraying the environmental and social dimensions of business decisions, providing life cycle assessments for materials and product improvements, and acting as the sustainability researcher on a variety of project teams.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in science or engineering with a diverse business experience inside and outside of Nike. The role will be most satisfying to a lifelong learner with a proven ability to develop paths through ambiguous situations that produce high quality, actionable results. Keys to success are the ability to: work as a selfless collaborator on a small team, partner with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the matrix, use systems thinking to frame-up and solve problems, and communicate complex ideas in simple ways. The role requires an ability to discover, blend, manipulate and create insights from a multitude of data sources. This is a dynamic, innovative, fast paced role for someone who is comfortable leading change while delivering business results.
Qualifications
- 8+ years' relevant work experience, typically in development, design, engineering, research, and/or production
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology or a related field or 2 additional years' experience in lieu of a degree
- Mastery of computer software and data structures to obtain and manipulate data
- Demonstrated talent for systems thinking with the proven ability to work outside of core area of expertise.
- Limitless curiosity and analytical skills creatively tailored to meet the needs of each project.
- Passion for sustainability and its practical integration into Nike business.
- Proven ability to work at all levels of the company; collaborate across the matrix to achieve goals, create support for programs with key business partners.
- Skilled presenter & influencer with excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills and the ability to make the complex simple.
- Develop scope, cost schedule and deliverables to engage outside expertise to assist or deliver projects. Manage contracts to insure quality of deliverables. Take personal accountability for the work.
- Product Creation experience with a thorough understanding of product processes preferred.
