Our Client is an MNC and a global leader in the technology and engineering sector with a recognisable brand name. As their business continues to grow in Asia, they are looking to recruit a high-calibre and experienced Legal Director to oversee the Asia Pacific region.
Job Description
As the Legal Director of Asia Pacific, you will take on an active role in legal strategy implementation and strategic management within Singapore and overseas. You will have a diverse and interesting portfolio that includes drafting and negotiating third party commercial contracts, advising the R&D team on potential IP issues, educating the internal business units on legal risks, overseeing corporate governance, handling commercial disputes, and taking on other major tenders and projects as needed. You will be a key player in aligning legal with business to contribute to the successful growth of the organization. This exciting and rewarding role will be based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The Successful Applicant
You possess at least 8 years of relevant post qualification experience in corporate commercial work gained partially or entirely within an in-house environment. Your experiences must be gained within the manufacturing, technology, engineering, or FMCG sector. Knowledge of local laws and regulations along with the qualification to practice in Singapore or Malaysia is a requirement. You must have a keen interest in design and engineering with the ability to understand a technical discussion. You have confidence coupled with strong business acumen enabling you to actively contribute to strategic business decisions.
