Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of dignity, freedom and hope, of power over their own lives. Christian Aid has a vision - an end to poverty - and we believe that vision can become a reality. We urge you to join us and help to drive forward and deliver our new corporate strategy - Partnership for Change.
We work globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality.
As a key member of Christian Aid’s senior management team you will participate, with the Finance and Operations Director, in the development of Christian Aid’s vision, mission and strategic direction, with particular emphasis on financial planning, financial stewardship and financial control, and enhancing organisation-wide performance.
This role will lead the global finance function and the head office finance division of Christian Aid. You will provide a wide range of support, financial analysis and information to Christian Aid management, the Board and its sub-committees. In addition, you will manage and develop the head office finance staff, ensuring clear lines of responsibility and authority and empowering colleagues to contribute to the overall strategic priorities of Christian Aid.
To be successful in this role, you will be a professionally qualified accountant with significant experience of working at senior management level within a large, complex organisation. In addition, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, being able to cultivate relationships and work collaboratively with key non-financial stakeholders both internally and externally. You will be passionate about Christian Aid’s vision.
This role is based in London, but may also include some occasional travel to locations around the world.
