Project Finance and Budget Assistant

BACKGROUND
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager and in collaboration with the IUCN ROWA team, the Project Finance and Budget Assistant’s role will be to:
• Monitor fund disbursements and track actual expenditure against budget;
• Prepare travel advances and travel claims for project staff;
• Prepare vouchers, bank transfers, payment requests as necessary for the smooth running of the office;
• Enter financial data into the financial system ;
• Process vendor invoices and prepare payment vouchers and documentation as per IUCN regulations and in line with donor requirements;
• Follow up with ROWA staff with regards to their personal accounts, including charges for the personal use of phone and vehicle;
• Organize and maintain the filing system for ROWA financial files;
• Prepare Requests for Quotation, perform vendor analysis and prepare purchase orders as per IUCN financial guidelines;
• Prepare staff salaries and social security calculations and assist with payroll related matters;
• Assist the Regional Finance and Administration Manager in the preparation of financial reports as per IUCN and donor requirements and in coordination with IUCN HQ and programme officers;
REQUIREMENTS
• A Degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting role, preferably in an international organization or a non-governmental organization.
• Excellent communication skills, both written & spoken in English and Arabic. French is an asset.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Knowledge of other financial software is an asset.
