Senior Systems Engineer responsible for Commercial Integrated Modular Avionics System development and certification. Join our highly motivated team of engineers designing industry-leading integrated avionics flight decks for business, regional, and air-transport aircraft.
This position will focus on Avionics System interface design and documentation, interface troubleshooting and certification efforts of avionics platform applications. Tasks include definition of system interfaces for the successful integration of software applications (network and configuration management), logical and physical interface design, and certification artifact generation and review. The candidate may also be responsible for, depending on experience level, providing direction, coordination, and control on assigned systems projects, including management of specific work packages for scope, cost, and schedule in accordance with established systems engineering processes.
Requirements:
Experience in systems engineering and avionics interfaces coupled with an understanding of the DO-178B/ARP4754A verification/validation process is highly essential. The ideal candidate should possess an education in software, systems, or hardware engineering. Knowledge of aircraft avionic systems and interface protocols is very important. The ability to quickly grasp and adapt to different avionic system architectures is vital. Flexibility, ability to learn, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The candidate should be highly motivated, patient, well organized and able to work in a team and independently. Knowledge of Pro Line II, 4, 21, Fusion, Business & Regional and Air Transport aircraft avionics is a plus. Prior experience working with offshore and geographically distributed teams is also a plus.
Experience in using the following tools is desirable: MS Office, Access, DOORS, Configuration Management tools (e.g. ClearCase, Subversion), and network analysis tools.
Domestic and international travel may be required on a limited basis.
The selected applicant would be expected to work in a technically advanced and challenging field supporting the application of integrated avionic modular systems to the next generation of airline aircraft.
