Our mission is the efficient and sustainable clean-up of the UK nuclear legacy, ensuring that we leave a safer environment for future generations. It’s unique, complex and fascinating work. Join us, and you’ll be part of a community of experts. We’re working together to champion high standards, best practice and optimum value for money across some of the biggest projects around. Our mission is crucial. You’ll help us solve challenges that have never been encountered before.
Accountable for conducting deep-dive reviews of diverse programmes and projects, you’ll make expert recommendations on plan changes and incentivisation implications. You’ll be responsible for planning, managing and implementing our Assurance Schedule. This will see you assessing, resourcing, deploying and coordinating a broad portfolio of assurance reviews across our large estate. Although you’ll have no permanent direct reports, you’ll manage both NDA and external specialists, making sure they take a flexible, focussed and effective approach to reviews.
Decommissioning work is carried out by a number of Site Licensing Companies (SLCs). You’ll test their competency and capability, as well as evaluating contractor compliance, and plans, processes and performance. We’ll look to you to identify opportunities from Lessons Learned. You’ll put in place processes for improvement plans, corrective action and cross-estate learning. Making recommendations that impact on key management decisions, you’ll forge collaborative relationships with the Head of Contract Delivery Requirements, Project and Programme Managers.
Educated to degree level, you also have a formal qualification in project management, together with Membership of an accredited professional body. Your track record includes project and programme management, planning, engineering and validation. Ideally, you’ll  have specific experience of cost engineering or estimating. We’ll expect you to be familiar with contract performance requirements and technical risk management, preferably within the UK nuclear industry. A proactive and motivational leader, you’re also a real team player. And you demonstrate excellent relationship building and communication skills, with a flair for engaging at senior executive level across large, complex businesses, government organisations and consultancies.
In return, we’ll help you thrive in a rewarding role that offers endless variety in a fast paced working environment. We offer a healthy work/life balance and excellent benefits, too. And we can provide professional challenges and opportunities that are rich with the potential to enhance your career.
