Our most wanted: Behavioural Analyst
Children have a right to a childhood. Their innocence deserves to be protected and to remain intact. Sadly, this isn’t the reality for many. The perpetrators of these heinous crimes are on our most wanted list and now, so are you – but for an altogether more positive reason. Join the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre as a Behavioural Analyst and you’ll help us tackle some of the most horrific crimes towards children imaginable.
We rely on intelligence to help bring offenders to justice. You’ll help to give tactical and strategic advice, as well as acquire and develop intelligence that focuses on safeguarding children and young people from sexual exploitation. This will mean you’ll get involved with referrals, interventions, operations and investigations – gathering information and intelligence to reduce the risks faced by our young clients. Inevitably this means you’ll need to be meticulous about your case management and keep impeccable records on everything you do. You’ll also conduct H&S procedures as required.
You’ll need to come to us with significant relevant experience in support / investigation reports of child abuse in a multi-agency environment – which will include associated child safeguard issues. As well as that you’ll need to show understanding of criminal law legislation impacting BAU activity and have practical application of PACE and Achieving Best Evidence. We’ll also expect you to step into a supervisory role should you need to and to generally be a great relationship builder – at all levels. Any degree in criminology / psychology would be beneficial as would any interview training.
The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre is dedicated to eradicating the sexual abuse of children. Affiliated to SOCA, we are part of UK policing and partner with multiple channels to ensure we bring offenders to justice. We’re also as committed to our people as we are to the children we work to protect. This means you’ll enjoy a range of benefits that include Civil Service Pension Scheme, 26 days’ holiday (to start), training and development opportunities, maternity and paternity leave, childcare voucher scheme and interest free season ticket loan.
