The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin (http://www.wisconservation.org) seeks a responsible and mature student with a zest for the outdoors, a curious mind, and sharp writing, editing, and social media skills. Knowledge of local and global environmental issues a plus.
Must be eligible for UW Work Study. 8-12 hours per week, times and days flexible for spring 2013 semester. This position could extend into summer 2013.
Responsibilities and expectations:
• Write content for newsletters, e-newsletters, web, Facebook, and other outlets; includes research and e-mail/phone/in-person interviews
• Create press releases and develop relationships with print and online media to pitch stories about field trips, conservation funding opportunities, and other topics
• Help organize extensive photo database
• Copy edit mailings and other documents
Desired qualifications:
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; proficient in social media; highly organized; great attention to detail; and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Hourly rate: $10 per hour. No benefits. Must be eligible for UW Work Study funding.
